Photographer Alan Percival lives in Darfield, South Yorkshire with his family, and has been taking photographs regularly since opening a Christmas present containing his first digital camera (a whopping 1 mega pixel) in 2001. In 2008 Alan completed an OU Photography course gaining a mark equivalent to a 'first'.
With a BA (Hons) degree in Journalism to his name Alan won four awards while Programme Editor for Gateshead Football Club (seasons 2003/04 & 2006/07 - 2007/08) and contributed articles and photographs to Players Inc Magazine for four years until the magazine stopped publishing in the summer of 2010. Alan was also a highlights commentator for NPLTV between October 2008 and May 2009 when the channel ended.
In July 2010 Alan photographed his first wedding for friends Laura and Mark Speight.
As of February 2011 Alan has decided to stop attempting to make photography work for him and is pursuing a love for the classroom. Alan is now a qualified Teaching Assistant (Level 3) but hopes to move into KS1 or KS2 teaching in the next 3-4 years.
Photographs will still be added when Alan can attend non-league matches or other events as freelance.
